A passion for photography
capturing moments in time
I’ve been hooked on photography since I first took a class in high school where I learned the basics of photography, along with how to develop film and prints in the darkroom. Photography was a hobby for many years until around 2005 when I started taking it more seriously and began working to improve my skills and understanding of the art.
Since then, I’ve earned a certificate from The New York Institute of Photography for completing their course in Professional Photography. I get out and shoot as often as possible, and I’m always striving to improve my ability to capture and create beautiful photos by studying and learning wherever and whenever I can.
Wildlife and nature Photography
A love for nature and wildlife
I’ve always loved science, animals, and nature. In school I took extra science classes as electives, and even went on field trips with local colleges to hunt snakes and reptiles. I enjoy reading about out incredible planet, as well as watching documentaries and educational programs about animals and nature. One of the phrases I told my kids when they were growing up, and I now tell to my grandchildren is “never stop learning.” We live on an amazing planet, full of beautiful and wonderful things, and I want to capture as much of it as I can with my camera.
Sharing with others
I have always loved teaching as sharing what I have learned with others.
Along with being a photographer, I’ve been a balloon artist and children’s entertainer since 1989. I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to teach others at balloon conventions and seminars across the United States. I’ve also produced a combination of more than 40 educational DVDs and books that on the art of balloon twisting that have been purchased by balloon artists around the globe. I love teaching, sharing, and encouraging others to pursue what they love, and look forward to continuing that in the world of photography.
